Sustainability. Intention. Innovation.
We strive to incorporate ecologically sustainable practices into our lives and work, including:
Power: Wild Oils is off-grid and uses 100% solar-powered electricity.
Ecological Balance: As custodians of the land, we practice land repair and regeneration, through collecting seed, then propagating and planting local tree species.
Our Wild Oils property is registered under a voluntary ‘Land for Wildlife’ conservation agreement, where native flora and fauna are cared for.
We follow organic principles and practices, wherever possible.
Plantation Grown, Not Wild-Harvested: Rather than wild-harvesting these precious native plants (some of which are rare and threatened) from their natural environments, we follow the much more labour intensive and time consuming process to collect seed, then propagate plants to use in our plantations. This ensures that wild populations are preserved, and our actions are not negatively impacting on these special Australian native plants.
Community: When we buy essential oils, (which we cannot grow in our Tasmanian climate), from other suppliers, we choose to support small, family-run, ethical businesses within the Australian industry.
Packaging: We use glass and aluminium containers for our products, plus cardboard and paper by-products for packaging, prioritising re-usable, recyclable and compostable materials.
Small batch, handcrafted, premium ingredients: We have poured decades of plant knowledge and experience, together with our scientific background and research into formulating our handcrafted products. We use only premium quality botanicals, and all natural, plant-based, organic (where possible) ingredients in our unique products. We focus on simplicity, purity and potency in our intentional, custom formulations. Everything included is in there for a reason, and nothing is in there that shouldn’t be. All products and blends are made in small batches by us, by hand, here at Saltwater River, Tasmania, and are tested only on our human friends.
